This Pride season, Aunty’s House are back in Sandringham to celebrate queer joy, connection, and the South Asian creative community in the open air.
Rainbows in the Reserve is a FREE, family-friendly Chai Session designed as a cosy queer picnic vibe – think delicious take-aways from the local Sandringham strip, chai in hand, performances from local South Asian artists, market stalls to wander through, and a whole lot of aroha.

We’re so excited to collaborate with Indian Origin Pride, SPiCE (Sandringham Project in Community Empowerment) and Auckland Pride Festival to create a space where queer South Asians, BIPOC whānau, and allies can gather, rest, celebrate, and feel seen.

Bring a picnic mat, grab some kai and settle in with your friends, your family, your chosen whānau, or come solo and make new connections. This is a warm, welcoming Pride moment rooted in community, care, and representation.
