Calling all outfit Makers, Circular Economy minded, the ‘fashioned’ – trend shakers! Not sure what to wear to Splore or thinking your pre-loved wearables deserve a little more?
Come along to a Textile workshop that takes pride in Papatūāknuku by promoting a more conscious sustainable approach to fashion, workshopping with repurposed materials re-dignifying those preloved items into something new to wow the crowds, this Pride.
Hosted by Jeanine Clarkin (Ngāti Hako, Ngāti Pāoa, Ngāti Ranginui, Ngāti Raukawa) a pioneer within Māori Fashion who for over 30 years has championed indigenous design both at home and abroad. Her passion for Kaitiakitanga and conscious practice will encourage us as we share yarns, stitch, sew, bedazzle or screen print, experimenting with new skills.
Bring your preloved piece of clothing to OPEN Cafe,
